History

Gautier High School serves as the primary high school for the city of Gautier.  Gautier is a city in Jackson County, Mississippi, located north of the Gulf of Mexico and on the west bank of the Pascagoula River. It is part of the Pascagoula Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city takes its name from the Gautier family that originated in Lyon, France.

As the second high school founded in the Pascagoula-Gautier School District (formerly Pascagoula School District), Gautier High School opened it's doors in the fall of 1997.  That same year, it was decided that the newly formed school would stake claim to the mascot Gators, who make a common appearance in the swamps and inlets associated with the nearby Pascagoula River.  Sporting the colors of Navy and Athletic Gold, Gautier High School seeks to develop in each young person a desire to learn and to become a good citizen in serving the local community and the world beyond, all while creating a passion and appreciation for culture and hard work that is second to none.
