Hi, I'm Coach Elkins and I will be your or your child's English II teacher for the upcoming school year.

 

A little about me- 

I am originally from the Bay Area of Northern California and graduated with a Degree in English Literature from the University of San Diego, where I played four years of Division 1AA football. I currently am the Ninth Grade Head football coach, Assistant Varsity Football Coach, Assistant Girls Basketball Coach, and Head Girls Track Coach at Gautier High School. I also assist with Girls Power-lifting.

 

 About the class-

This is the big year in English for most students with the MAAP State Test at the end of the term. Students are required to pass this test to meet graduation requirements, and this course is designed to meet those standards while also getting students ready for Junior English and the ACT. Class will consist of various readings (poems, short stories, novels, articles, etc), writings ( Informative, Argumentative, and Narrative), and ACT course work.
